Everyone struggles with problems at one time or another.
Friends and family can be helpful, but sometimes we need more help than they can give. Or sometimes our problems involve our family and friends.
If you were hurt and in physical pain, you'd go to a professional who would help you get well again. When you're hurting mentally, emotionally or relationally there are also times when it is wise to seek professional help.
If you are. . .
- so worried that you can't get a good night's sleep
- so "down" that you haven't had a good day in 2-3 weeks
- experiencing frequent conflict at home or at work
- parenting a child and feeling inadequate
- depending on a drink or substance to help you "forget"
- caught up in negative thoughts and feeling hopeless. . .
. . . it may be wise to visit a professional counselor.
